Tennis pro Maria Sharapova is chasing the No. 1 ranking in the world at the Madrid Open, but this photo shoot for Esquire Mexico shows off a different side to the four-time Grand Slam winner.
“I don’t want to think about it (the No 1 ranking) too much,” Sharapova said. “It depends also on the other players. I can (only) control what is in my hands and try not to worry about it too much.”
The 26-year-old Russian tennis star landed the cover of the May issue of Esquire Mexico and posed for a sexy swimsuit photo shoot on the beach.

Sharapova — who is the world’s highest-paid female athlete — has been featured in several modeling shoots, including one for the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
She has her own line of tennis apparel and her own brand of candy called Sugarpova.
